Trama

L’ingegnere Olmi è un uomo di mezza età. Non ha grandi qualità e la sua vita trascorre giorno dopo giorno sempre uguale, divisa tra lavoro, casa e gite fuori Milano per andare a pesca. Stanca della routine e della prevedibilità della loro vita, noiosa e fin troppo normale, un giorno all’improvviso sua moglie lo lascia. Mentre Olmi non riesce ancora a capacitarsi di quanto gli stia succedendo, arriva l’occasione attesa da una vita. Prescelto tra molti altri, viene contattato da una ditta giapponese che gli propone di testare il suo nuovo e sensazionale prodotto. Si tratta della donna perfetta, costruita su misura a seconda delle esigenze del committente. Così l’ingegnere Olmi vede recapitarsi a casa, dentro un pacco, la donna che ha sempre sognato, Elettra: bella, bionda ed innamorata solo di lui. Ad Olmi sembra di aver raggiunto la perfezione. Ma che gusto c’è a tornare sporchi di rossetto se “lei” non si ingelosisce? E quante modifiche è possibile apportare al proprio gioiello?

 

Plot

Engineer Corrado Olmi is alone. He still cannot manage to find a reasonable explanation for his wife’s decision to separate after fifteen years of marriage: no children; incompatibilities dissolved in silences; unexpressed fantasies; desires assuaged, or, at the most, shared, never out of the protective shadow of a comfortable, tacitly pre-established stability. Nevertheless, Carla had decided to go away. He now spends his evenings at the restaurant of Eminio and Giudy, a gay couple, friends of long-standing, who always reserve him the same table and who always prepare him the same dishes. For some time now a distinguished German gentleman has been a frequent client of the restaurant, and he has been watching Corrado’s behaviour. Finally, one evening Schwarzkopf (this is his name) sits down next to the Engineer and tells him the reason why he is there: he has been commissioned by Yono-Cho, a well-known Japanese multinational company, to find a suitable man to take part in a pilot experiment that might change the existence of many people, and that might solve the problem of loneliness…
